AeroSurvey has developed equipment and techniques for simulating open-air chemical release scenarios. Specifically, a number of portable plume generators have been constructed and used in various projects since 1990. The largest and most capable devices were constructed in 1998. Two of these PPG’s were delivered to the Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Army. AeroSurvey retained a third device, which we continue to modify and use in support of ongoing remote sensing research sponsored by the Department of Defense. AeroSurvey has also focused considerable effort on the development of radiance calibration panels. These panels are designed to provide well-characterized radiance and reflectance of infrared light, making them useful in the development and testing of new remote sensing technologies. |
